I did immense research into buying forstner bits and was tempted to buy cheaper brands, but Germany makes quality tools and I spent the money with zero regrets.Best forstner bits in the market. Spendy, but worth it.Saw these advertised in a magazine about 18months ago and I needed to replace some cheap rubbish ones for a piece of work I'm doing.30mm bit glided through some 1/2" oak board and then 20 perfect holes (25mm) in hard maple. Bits never once got too hot to touch, beautiful clean holes with no scorching, no break out on the back side and very easy overlap holes with no drifting. So glad I bought them.I have been using a cheapy set i bought from screwfix for ages, and always baulked at buying expensive bits. However, i bought a 13mm one of these as i use that size all the time and crikey am i glad i did. using a scraficial board underneath the main piece i get virtually no tear out at all. I will be selecting more from this type as i identify my most common sizes.Deep joy! These bits cut clean and effortlessly. Tried them on a variety of woods. Obviously, on very dense hardwoods you need to go a little easier on feed rate, but they handle it beautifully. Chips are efficiently ejected with no clogging which means the bits don't get hot. I should have bought these years ago.Already knew Famag as one of the best global manufacturers of drill bits. Proper German engineering. These cut clean and are as sharp as when I first got them, after lots of use. Also don’t overheat and cut brilliantly at slow speeds. Only issue is I now want more Famag bits ... these are outstanding!Have a fair few of these bits, they cut really smooth holes in all types of wood with very little tear out. No burning and clean edges. Highly recommended.
